I never even thought about what it looks like. Telling someone that's all they have to look forward to--

[she stops for a moment.]

[when her face comes on screen, the emotion in it isn't guilt, but sympathy, sorrow.]

Namine...are you really all right with how things turned out back home?

[ she knew that this conversation would come up eventually, but... ]

And Roxas did too. It might not seem like it now, but he did a lot of growing up back home. He just never went through any of it before coming here.

... But it was for the best.

[she's silent for a moment, absorbing this.]

It's just, seeing you two here, making friends and leading your own lives...it doesn't seem fair to take that away from you.

[ she laughs lightly, shaking her head. ]

You won't take anything for me. My friends, my life, my memories-- they'll all still be there. Just inside of you.

[she knows that, deep down. But something still nags at her.]

But...once you come back to me, it'll stop. It won't...grow anymore. We're connected, but I can't be what you were to someone. It's just not fair to that person. Right?

I don't expect you to be. It's just... I'm really not sure how to explain. There are people who are against this decision of mine, but in the end that's what it is-- my decision. I know it may sound selfish, but it's what people do. We make selfish decisions for the sake of others and ourselves. My friends have made choices that I don't agree with, but in the end they had every right to do so.

You see, I was alone for a very long time. All I wanted was a friend, and Sora gave me that. He doesn't remember me anymore. What we had won't grow, like you said. But our memories together are still there, they all really happened, and I'm okay with that.

[she listens quietly, nodding a little.]

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to belittle your choice. I don't think it's selfish at all.

And please know that I never, ever resented you. Someone told me that we should be angry at our Others because they get hearts and we don't, but-- if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't even be here. I can't thank you enough for that.
