[she looks around; a room like her own but a little more...personal. Lived-in. It's nice, she thinks. Better than that castle in the World that Never Was. She takes a seat.]
Hope? Oh, I talked to him when I first got here. He was nice. He said he'd heard of me from Riku and Sora.
[her first thought is a genuine how cute!. But then she remembers--Xion. She'd meant to ask.]
Mm-hm. She...feels really familiar. [she pauses to think.] But it's not even that she seems to look and sound like me...and it's not like you. It's something else. I just can't put my finger on it.
[a touchier subject than she thought...but she realizes now she was right not to press Xion about it. She was burning with curiosity, of course, but she did have some self-control.]
If it's that important, I can wait.
[she nods to punctuate that statement, folding her hands on her lap. And now, to business.]
There's still a lot I missed...that I don't understand. How did you find me in that castle?
Logically, after you were captured by the Organization, the most obvious place to look would be where they keep their prisoners.
... Really, it's something that's hard to explain. It's just something that you sense. That was the first time I was ever at The World That Never Was, yet I knew exactly where they kept their cells. Kind of like your heart was calling out to me.
Hey, Naminé? [realizing she could easily be mistaken for someone else now, she quickly tacks on:] —It's Xion. Can you give me a call? I... have some things I want to talk to you about.
Well, first you have to understand that normally Nobodies don't exist with their Others. Once you become a Nobody, the you that existed before is gone. There have been very few exceptions, and obviously Kairi and I are one of them.
But because I exist, right now Kairi isn't whole. And she can't live like that forever, so eventually I'm going to have to go back to her in order to make her whole again. Once that happens, there won't be a me anymore in the physical sense.
